![]() The Camel Pose, or ushtrasana in Sanskrit, is a great posture for stretching your chest, abdomen and shoulders. It opens up the lungs and helps to relieve tension and spinal stiffness. It is advised that this posture be done later in your routine, after having warmed up with other gentler asanas. Instructions:Begin by kneeling, with buttocks resting on your heels. Sit up and reach the arms back to the spine and walk the hands toward the shoulder blades.
Open the upper back and arch behind you. If the heels are available, you can hold them.
Tilt your head back slightly.
Stay here for 10 breaths unless you are feeling pain or sharpness in the lower back.
Repeat once or twice more.
