![]() The Plow Pose is also called Halasana. The Sanskrit word Hala means plow, as in the traditional plow that is drawn by a horse. When you perform this posture your body resembles a plow. This pose helps to stretch the shoulders and elongate the spine. Remember yoga is the practice that yokes the mind and the body. Instructions:With your stomach muscles, lift your legs up over your head until your toes reach the floor behind your head. If you are coming from shoulder stand, only release your hands from your back if your toes touch the floor. Entwine your fingers behind your back and straighten out your arms. Your hips should be aligned over your shoulders. Stay for 10 to 12 breaths.
To come out of this pose, roll your back down slowly, one vertebra at a time, while trying to keep your legs straight and your feet together. Anatomical FocusForward bend.
